FAQS

WHAT IS A NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR?

A naturopathic doctor (ND) is a licensed doctor that goes through an accredited four year naturopathic medical education after undergraduate studies. We are licensed after taking a two part exam called the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Exam (NPLEX).

As an ND, I am able to diagnose, prevent and treat both acute and chronic illnesses using botanical medicine, homeopathic remedies and nutrition.

For more information on how NDs differ from MDs, DOs and DCs click here.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

I will ask for your birth day, sex at birth and contact information in order to get you set up in my electronic medical record program called Charm. You will receive a link via email to create an account followed by some digital paperwork. These forms should be filled out at least 24 hours prior to your appointment so I can review before our visit. Please upload any important documents to the patient portal by clicking on documents and then a blue upload button will appear just to the left of the center of the screen.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?

Expect 90-120 minutes face-to-face interactions with the doctor.

We will establish rapport through deep listening and information gathering in the first appointment.

Deep dive into your lifestyle habits.

Collaborative approach to your health: if necessary other doctors and practitioners, you and I will work together!

For more information about why NDs spend so much time with their patients especially in the first visit please visit the Institute for Natural Medicine here.
